The role play L’Alien is an integral part of L’Alien project.

From January to June 2019, I led a role-playing game in a primary school class in the Aude region, France, as part of a residency with the Création en cours programme run by Les Ateliers Médicis.

During these six months, the pupils conducted an investigation into the disappearance of a ufologist in Ireland, met an alien and took up the cause of defending his rights as an asylum seeker. A science fiction adventure made credible by the elements brought in each week in class. Photomontages of flying saucers, plans of a secret laboratory, fake emails, actors and staged scenes punctuated this role-playing game and allowed the children to believe in this encounter with an extraordinary stranger.

Throughout the residency, the children’s discussions and impressions were recorded on camera to feed Le blog de la classe de Fraïssé, which recounted the adventure online.

In 2020, this role-playing game won the special jury prize at the 3rd edition of Création en cours, programme run by Les Ateliers Médicis.
