Nuit Blanche
2018
Performance
23 minutes
Beaulieu-en-Rouergue Abbey, Beaulieu-en-Rouergue, France
As part of European Museum Night, at the invitation of Abattoirs, Musée - Frac Occitanie, Toulouse, France
The Nuit Blanche performance engages with the history of Beaulieu-en-Rouergue Abbey, inhabited in the 12th century by Cistercian monks.
The Cistercian monks took a vow of silence, so they developed their own gestures to communicate with each other.
This specific language is evoked by this performance, which relies on the omnipresence of white and offers a counterpoint to silence through the presence of opera.
