Based on a novel whose central narrative, deliberately obscured, exists only as a silhouette outlined by notes, comments, illustrations and errata, a whole body of work unfolds. By diverting the homodiegetic style and endowing it with various entries, dead ends and false leads, this work weaves a tenuous link between reality and fiction, blurring the notion of authorship by renouncing literature in order to better rediscover it.

It is in this narrative that the character of Stéphane Étienne appears for the first time, one of the fictional artists whose works and critical corpus of texts I have been producing since 2018.
