On the occasion of the opening of the Hôtel des Collections, Geoffrey Badel, a former MOCO.ESBA student and artist now based in Montpellier, presents An it harm none, do what ye will, a ritual of purification and protection of the venue as part of the MOCO’s inaugural exhibition. The title of the performance, taken from Wiccan philosophy, means in Old English “Do what thou wilt without harming anyone”. Manipulations of personal and symbolic objects, bodily modifications, gestural signs, vocalisations and spatial movements converge in an intuitive choreography, while referencing Wicca, a mystery cult associated with both nature and magic.
