L’insomnie de Kate

This performance is the result of an invitation from Jérôme Souillot to invest in and experiment with his solo exhibition Les Sommes at the Chapelle des Cordeliers for a week.

As a way of sharing this experience, I created this performance using objects belonging to the artist and appropriating them as elements of action. Thus, the sheets of absorbent paper that Jérôme uses to paint become my skater’s skirt, and Kate Bush’s song Under Ice provides the repetitive and incessant backdrop to the performance. As a final tribute and personal challenge, the performance ends with the installation of La Tente, a work by Jérôme Souillot that was hung on the wall during the exhibition.
