Le surf, la nuit

On a beach on the French Basque coast, an annual festival is held at the end of August. It starts in the late afternoon and when night falls, bonfires are lit on the sand. Beginner surfers return to the first waves to enjoy this sport, which they practise like a game. A little further on, in calmer water, a young couple kiss under the storm lights. It’s the end of summer.
