Margaux Fontaine film portrait

Dounia Chemsseddoha

Through gathering, gleaning and plant-based tapestries, Margaux Fontaine’s work revives traditional processes and ancestral knowledge linked to the understanding of the earth, its rhythms and its secrets.

In this film (French only), artist Dounia Chemsseddoha focuses her gaze on the work of Margaux Fontaine, creating an intimate and poetic portrait informed by theoretical and political readings. In four parts, each corresponding to a season of the year, she puts us in touch with the artist’s works and she invites us to understand the inner workings of their creation.

This film is part of the Documents d’artistes Occitanie collection of artist portraits : documents created with the contribution of video artists living and working in Occitanie, who wish to give a voice to the artists of our web-site, to follow the gestures that constitute creation, through a sensitive and direct interpretation.

Film realised in co-production between Documents d’artistes Occitanie and Réseau documents d'artistes.
