La derniere maison sur la gauche (The Last House on the Left) is the title of Wes Craven’s first film, made in 1972. In it, the director moves the horror genre away from the fantastical and into the ordinary world of suburban life.

Presented in a loop, conceived as a tableau with no beginning and no end, this video echoes the principle of the film from which it borrows its title by leaving unresolved the question of whether the eyes watching us belong to the executioners or the victims.

The disturbing music that accompanies it completes the reference to the work that inspired it.
