La nostalgie de la séparation

Performance
55 paper plates and apron
25 min
As part of festival Les Actionneuses
Monastère Bouddhiste Nalanda, Labastide-Saint-Georges, France

In this performance I break paper plates between my hands. One by one, I pull them out of the front pocket of my apron like infinite scarves from a magician’s jacket. Without a sound, the fragments fall slowly and delicately, defying the laws of gravity and time. They fall like autumn leaves, flower petals, snowflakes, eggshells and confetti, covering the ground along my way. Time stretches on to infinity.

From a silent, introspective drama, plunging me into a meditative state, it then becomes a childlike reverie giving place to wonder and rediscovered joy.
