Du vent pour vous
2006
Series of stamped texts on framed paper
Approximately 50 x 70 cm each
Work carried out in residence at Capacete, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the support of the Consulate General of France in Rio de Janeiro, the AFAA and ADOR, a network of art schools in the south of France
Framing produced by Frac Languedoc-Roussillon
This work is the result of a residency in a city that is not conducive to photographic strolls and where audiovisual equipment exposes the lone person carrying it to theft. The text therefore steps in when it is impossible to take pictures and replaces their absence. Each text, which starts with the same opening sentence and then zooms in on a city I am discovering, is stamped on paper found locally: blank newspaper, coloured paper bearing the names of cities, islands or deserts, brightly coloured tissue paper used to make kites…
