Joindre, jaillir et jubiler

For this performance, Nicolas Puyjalon and I decided to take over the floor of the art centre, in response to the verticality of the paintings in the Des Merveilles group show, which covered all the walls of the space.

Using clay, earth, ropes and other raw materials found on site, we attempted to build vertical, monochrome structures that would provide a chromatic contrast to the profusion of colours in the monumental paintings. Our efforts were in vain, as these precarious constructions inevitably collapsed.
